PERSONALITY; Kanon is gentle, sweet and easy to get along with, approaching anyone and everyone with the most innocent of intentions. He's always moving, always doing something, was cursed with the inability to sit still from the day he was born. During his fits of mania, he often becomes easily irritable and can't think clearly or control his actions and may become violent if he is pushed too far by anyone he is with. He stays awake for days at a time, cleaning and re-cleaning himself and everything around him, talking to himself and anyone who will listen in a happy, elated, yet somewhat instable tone. He can be very impulsive, approaching people without thinking twice, even if they seem like people he shouldn't talk to, and thus gets himself in danger often, but refuses to touch anyone further than a hug.

He has a plush bird named Piyoko who he talks to during his manic states and seems to calm him down. He takes the thing everywhere and gets very upset if it's missing, sometimes even talking for it when other people around, which doesn't help in his quest to prove he's not certifiably insane.

MENTAL DISORDER; Unipolar Mania; Genophobia (fear of sex). Misdiagnoses include ADHD and OCD.

HISTORY; Kanon was born to a simple family with a lot more love than money, but his father died of illness when he was merely a year old, too young to remember the man. He has a superheroic idea of him from his mother's stories and the picture's he's seen and wants desperately to meet him someday even though he's fully aware he'll never get to. He was popular enough in school with people who could handle his constant energy and got decent grades, although he had trouble listening in class. By the advice of his teacher, he was tested for ADHD at a young age and diagnosed with the disorder, though none of the medicines given to him seemed to calm him down. A few years later he was tested for OCD due to his tendency to clean up after everyone just for something to do, but a competent doctor later diagnosed him with unipolar mania because his hyper states seemed to be a lot more irritable and obsessive than they were happy and he couldn't sleep at night.

When he was 11 a man dressed in black wearing a mask broke into his house and raped his mother in her bedroom while he hid in a closet and watched through a peephole. She was extremely unstable for several years after, almost mistreating him (with words; she'd never ever hit him) until he was sent to live with his grandparents for a few years until she got her mind back together. He has been afraid of any kind of physical contact past hugging ever since.

His mania got worse when he went back home; he stayed up for three or four days at a time going outside and wandering the streets, talking to anyone who would listen to him or sometimes just himself, and was seen as almost psychotic. His refusal to touch anyone, girls or boys, worried his family about the impact of the incident five years ago, and they decided he needed inpatient treatment, and thus sent him to 304 Asylum.
